Puberphonia, also known as functional falsetto or mutational falsetto, is a condition in which an adolescent or adult male continues to speak in an abnormally high-pitched voice despite normal development after puberty. While many patients have normal vocal cords, the voice fails to transition to its natural lower pitch. A persistently high-pitched voice can affect confidence, social interactions and professional life.
